Intelligent, Cost Effective, Accurate, footfall measurement system
Why count people?
Monitoring the movement of visitor traffic is a key metric in evaluating the performance of a store or a shopping centre.
What is the accuracy of the Traffic Central People Footfall Counter?
Customers can expect an average performance to exceed 95%
What do we need to install and connect to the People Footfall Counter?
Physical installation requires mounting the camera over an aisle, a power source and a network connection. Power can either be through a dedicated DC power supply (supplied) or via a POE (Power Over Ethernet) connection
What do you mean by an 'All In One' People Counter?
Current video based footfall systems require a camera, a video channel to stream the data and a PC to interpret the data. Our solution is unique in that all the required components fit into one single module. This offers greater efficiencies in accuracy, deployment and cost.
How easy is it to configure?
The setup of the People Footfall Counter is performed using your internet browser. From the browser you can remotely configure the operation of the device.
We have our own back office for performing trend analysis. Can we use your People Counter?
Yes, the footfall data is stored directly on the camera and can be accessed through our free Traffic Central (basic) application or can be accessed directly from a third party application via standard XML calling functions.
What is the maximum number of People Counters that can be installed/networked?
All the People Counting processing is performed in the camera. There are practically zero bandwidth requirements on the network, therefore the number of People Counters that can reside on the same network is not restricted.
I am interested in connecting a number of stores to compare the footfall trends. What is the limit on the number of stores/retail outlets that can be networked together?
No limit.
What are the power requirements?
5V DC. Powers supplies are included. In certain models POE is also supported.
Will the People Counter work over WI-FI?
Yes. In some IP camera modules, WI-FI is built into the camera, for other models a standard WI-FI hub can be used.
Will the People Counter work over the GPRS/3G mobile networks?
Yes.
How much data can be stored on the People Counter?
A years worth of footfall data, recorded at thirty minute intervals is stored on the camera.
How does the camera perform the People Counting?
A proprietary AVD People Counting algorithm implemented within the camera performs the count analysis.
What height does the camera have to be at?
We recommend between 2.5 and 7m.
What is the shortest/maximum aisle width coverage?
Between 1m and 7m across. This limit does depend on the practicalities of the ceiling height. Contact us with your site requirements and we will advise accordingly.
Will the People Counter work outdoors?
Our people counter is a very cost effective solution designed only for indoor environments. An outdoor version is expected in a couple of weeks.
What is included in the Traffic Central (Basic) Package ?
The camera comes preloaded with the all the software necessary to perform people counting. All the footfall information is stored directly on the camera and can be accessed via any standard internet browser. For multiple installations, we offer a free software package that can download the data from multiple Counters simultaneously. This package includes simple graphing, reports and export options.
What is the difference between the various reporting packages?
Three reporting packages are available; Traffic Central Basic is free and is included with all our people counters. Traffic Central Professional offers increased trend functionality and graphing options. Ideal for single retail outlets. Traffic Central Enterprise is an internet based solution offering trend analysis across multiple sites.
How reliable and proven is the hardware?
Our People Counting technology is build around the highly successful range of IP cameras and video encoders. Thousands of these units have already been deployed. The MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) is 100,000 hours.
What camera can I use for my application?
We have a number of camera models available. The camera type depends on a number of parameters. Ultimately, we need to define the required field of view requirement for your application. This depends on the available ceiling height and the aisle width you wish to cover. Contact us with your site requirements and we will advise accordingly.
Do you provide installation?
At present, we supply only through a global network of value added resellers and distributers.
Do you supply to my country?
We have a global distributorship in 49 countries. Contact us and we will advise on your nearest distributer.
What are the costs?
Cost depends on the required installation. Base costs are from £550 ($890 US) per complete People Counting Footfall Solution including back office.
